Q: How can I find out how much my HOA fees are and when they are due?
A: If you've recently purchased your home, this information is included in the resale package you should have received from the previous owners upon making your purchase. If you cannot find your resale package, you can call our Accounting Department at (703) 707-6404.
Q: Where can I mail my payment?
A: You can mail your HOA payment to:
Capitol Companies
3914 Centreville Road, Suite 300
Chantilly, VA 20151
Attn: (Your Community Name)
Q: Can I pay my HOA fees with a credit card?
A: Unfortunately we do not accept credit cards, however you can set up an Automatic Debit account to have fees automatically deducted from your bank account. Another option, consider bill payment services which are now offered by most banks.
Q: How do I set up an Automatic Debit account to pay my HOA fees?
A: Simply complete the Automatic Debit Form, attach a voided check (for bank account information), and mail or fax to Capitol Property Management at the above address. Please allow 14 business days for your account setup.
Q: I want to sell my property, what do I need to do?
A:
(1) Resale Package
Virginia Law requires that sellers selling a property belonging to an HOA provide the buyer with a resale package. The resale package includes information regarding the property's HOA dues, rules and regulations of the HOA, and other pertinent information like parking and community facilities. For more information on requesting a resale package, click here.
(2) HOA/Condo Certificate
You may also be required to provide an HOA or Condo certificate - check with your real estate agent. This certificate is often required at settlement as notice of the HOA account standing. For more information on requesting a certificate, click here.
(3) Notification to CPM
Please make sure your real estate agent faxes or mails a copy of the settlement statement to Capitol Property Management. This provides notice to CPM that the property has been sold - we are then able to update our records so that information is sent to the new owner.
(4) Pass on those important items
Make sure you give the new owner any pertinent items in addition to the resale package, including parking passes, pool passes, mailbox keys, etc.
Q: How do I request maintenance?
A: Depending on the location, make sure it is the HOA's responsibility to provide maintenance. Usually, the HOA is responsible only for the community common areas. If you are unsure whether the location is in a common area, check your Resale Package or call CPM at (703) 707-6404. If you are confident the maintenance issue is located in the common area, you can complete the Maintenance Request Form and it will be sent immediately to CPM.
Q: What do I do if I have an emergency after hours?
A: Capitol Property Management is open Mon-Fri, from 8am - 5:30pm.
If you have a non-life-threatening emergency after hours, such as a slow
water leak,
